The Fiat 500 needs no introduction and in the 60s and 70s, it became the number 1 car on Italian roads.
The car was a true successor to the Fiat Topolino, created by the engineer Dante Giacosa in 1934, and has been since then part of the Italian car history. This car was, at the time, the smallest car in world, especially design for an easy driving in the city, cost effective and with a minimalist design. In the 70’s, the car won an enormous following throughout the world.
In August 1968, while nobody was expecting a new version of the fiat 500, Fiat launched a luxurious version – the Fiat 500 L. Most of the changes have been made on the inside of the car: the dashboard has been stylized, the instruments are in a new rectangular shape, and the seats are more comfortable: basically a much more modernized interior.
The new version was a success selling up to more than 400 000 cars in 1970 which half of them have been exported.
This example is from 1972, yellow-colored with a black interior and underwent a full restoration in 2012 for a cost of more than 6000 Euros. This include a full engine and gearbox rebuild as well as being re painted. This car is in a perfect running order and aesthetically perfect.
